Weekly vs Long-Term Car Rental in Melbourne's South-East
24 August 2026
"Weekly" and "long-term" aren't two separate products here - every vehicle in the fleet is billed weekly, and "long-term" simply means continuing that same weekly billing for longer. Here's how that actually works.
Is this a lease?
No - it's a rental, not a lease or finance agreement. Each vehicle has a minimum rental period (shown on its own listing, generally one month) billed weekly rather than paid upfront in one lump sum. There's no separate 6-month or 12-month lease product to opt into; you simply continue the same weekly-billed rental for as long as you need the vehicle.
What happens after the minimum term?
Once the minimum rental period on your vehicle has passed, there's no fixed end date forcing a decision - the vehicle continues on the same weekly rate until you're ready to hand it back. This suits renters who want the flexibility of not being locked into a 2-3 year finance contract, without having to re-negotiate anything every few weeks either.
Real pricing, not an estimate
Every vehicle shows its actual weekly rent and security bond on its listing - for example, our 2026 Toyota Corolla Hybrid currently rents from $250/week with a $500 bond. Long-term hire doesn't carry a different, undisclosed rate - the price you see is what you're billed weekly, for as long as you keep the vehicle.
Who is this suited to?
Renters who want a vehicle for more than a few weeks but don't want a car loan, a lease application, or the depreciation risk of ownership - including rideshare and delivery drivers, people between finance options, and anyone relocating to Melbourne's south-east who needs a vehicle sorted quickly.
