Worked example
A 250 km round trip in a car using 7.0 L/100 km, with fuel at $2.00 a litre: 250 × 7.0 ÷ 100 = 17.5 litres, × $2.00 = $35.00. The same trip in a hybrid using 4.0 L/100 km uses 10 litres, or $20.00.
