The car
- 15 years old or less: in 2026, a 2011 model or newer.
- 4 doors and seats for 4 to 7 passengers.
- ANCAP 5-star safety rating, or an exemption.
- Registered for passenger work (a commercial passenger vehicle) with Safe Transport Victoria.
The driver
- Aged 21 or over, with a full Australian or New Zealand licence held for at least 6 months.
- Driver accreditation from Safe Transport Victoria, an ABN, and GST registration before your first trip.

What is the oldest car Uber will accept in Victoria?

Not with passengers: Uber needs a full licence held for at least 6 months, and drivers aged 21 or over. A green P2 licence can be used for Uber Eats deliveries by car in Victoria; a red P1 can't.
