A plain, practical small car

The Corolla is the kind of car you stop thinking about once you are driving it. The controls are where you expect, visibility is good, and it is small enough for tight inner-suburb parking yet comfortable on the freeway. That makes it a common pick for people between cars, students, and newer drivers who need something reliable for work.

Running costs

The Green Vehicle Guide lists the Corolla hatch with the 2.0-litre engine and CVT automatic, released in 2018, at 6.0 L/100km combined. The previous-generation 1.8-litre CVT hatch from 2015 is listed at 6.1, and the 2014 1.8-litre CVT sedan at 6.6. All three are listed on regular 91 RON unleaded.

About the Corolla Axio

Some cars in the fleet are Corolla Axio sedans, including Axio Black versions. Corolla Axio was the Japanese-market name for the Corolla sedan. When Toyota launched a redesigned Corolla sedan in Japan in 2019, it kept selling the Axio alongside it. These cars were imported rather than sold new in Australia, so they have no Green Vehicle Guide rating, and some labels or screens may show Japanese-market details.

Weekly rent and bond are shown on every listing. P-plates are accepted, and you collect the car from Dandenong South.
